Sydney Green, the founder of Trotting On, is a twenty-year-old multi-discipline rider from Central Indiana who now lives in the bluegrass of Lexington, Kentucky. With a lifelong passion for horses and an insider look to multiple disciplines, including dressage, hunter-jumper, and eventing, she provides unique connections in her writing that other blogs don’t have. She works full-time in the creative sector of the sports industry with a specialty in social media. Being remote allows her to ride and show year-round in Lexington & Wellington.
Currently, Sydney has three horses in her string and is always looking to add more. Carina, is a Selle Français mare currently enjoying the relaxed show horse life as Sydney’s jumper, while also piloting kiddos around on occasion. Goose, her rescued Quarter Horse, is developing into a very fun pony jumper and she hopes he enjoys the show life. And finally she has Phim, her jumper turned dressage horse she is aiming to get her bronze medal on.

Trotting On was originally launched in 2016 as The Preppy Equestrian. It was a more in-depth outlet to talk and interact with her followers. Focused mostly on product reviews and how-to’s, The Preppy Equestrian had great success over the years, but now she is making a shift to a more experience-based content with Trotting On. Speaking with professionals throughout the equestrian community and through her own experiences to create content that is relatable and relevant to everybody. This blog is for those who share a love for horses and the lifestyle that comes with it, no matter the discipline or background.
